Recipe:
🥃 2 oz Edmond’s Honor Bourbon
🎃 1 oz Pumpkin Syrup *see below
🍋 0.5 oz Lemon Juice
💥 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
🌿 Garnish: A lit sage leaf cradled in a lemon wheel
*Pumpkin Syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar + 1/2 cup cane sugar
- 1/4 cup Pumpkin Puree (100% pumpkin)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- Simmer the water and sugars in a saucepan until dissolved. Add the remaining ingredients (except the vanilla extract) and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, let steep 15 minutes. Once cooled, strain through a fine mesh strainer into a glass jar and store in the fridge up to 2 weeks.
The Execution:
🔪Slap 3 sage leaves between your palms to release the oils and rub them on the inside of a rocks glass. Drop them into your cocktail shaker.
🩸Add the bourbon, pumpkin syrup, lemon juice and angostura bitters to the cocktail shaker with ice.
🔪Shake to combine and pour into the sage wiped rocks glass with a large ice cube.
🩸Add a lemon wheel with an upright sage leaf in the middle. Light the sage. Cheers!
