🍁 2 oz Mando Tequila (Blanco)
🍁.5oz Cointreau orange liqueur
🍁 4 oz Apple cider
🍁 1 oz Cinnamon simple syrup
🍁.5oz Fresh lime juice
🍁Rim: Pure maple syrup + cinnamon sugar

How to mix it:
1. Dip the rim of your glass into pure maple syrup, then roll it in cinnamon sugar for the ultimate fall crust. 🥞🍁
2. Fill your shaker with ice.
3. Pour in your Mando Tequila, Cointreau. apple cider, cinnamon syrup and lime juice.
4. Shake vigorously until icy cold.
5. Strain over fresh ice into your sweet-and-spicy rimmed glass.
6. Garnish with a fresh apple fan and a cinnamon stick.

🍋 1.5 oz Vodka @dentedbrickdistillery
🍋 .25 oz Lemon Juice
🍋 .25 oz Lime Juice
🍋 Sprite to top
🍋 .75 oz Blackberry Liqueur
🍋1/2 spent lime and overproof rum for flaming garnish
🍋Ground Cinnamon for light show

Method

🏍️Add the vodka, lemon and lime juice to a hurricane glass with ice.
🏍️Add the Sprite to top. Stir.
🏍️Add the blackberry liqueur over top to seep down (like oil).
🏍️Add a straw (stainless steel).
🏍️Add 1/2 spent lime (use the leftover lime half) filled with overproof 151 rum and place on top of the drink.
🏍️Light the lime half. Sprinkle some cinnamon over top for a light show. Blow out flame before drinking.

Fun fact - Eric Von Zipper was the 1960’s motorcycle gang leader from the Beach Party movies who was always trying to find a way to make the surfers look bad. He was more comical and bumbling vs mean and had a warped perception that he needed to protect the weak against the rotten beach bums (surfers)😂

Come on everybody, let’s do the luau cha cha cha!🪇😂

Annette’s Luau Margarita combines 60’s beach party genre, Hawaiian tradition and a margarita, all rolled into one! It is a riff on the Luau Margarita which consists of tequila, Cointreau (or triple sec), pineapple juice, coconut water and lime. I’ve added mango and papaya puree for the “Annette” twist as well as a toasted coconut rim.🥥

I’ve teamed with @cwspirits and @swoltequila and am using their high-quality tequila for this cocktail. SWOL tequila is wildcrafted in Mexico and is crafted using ancient and modern techniques. It is released in extremely small batches (10,000 bottles at a time) and each bottle features a peel off, sew on patch designed by a L.A based artist. SWOL started when two friends journeyed to Mexico on a mission to create the smoothest tequila in the world. HipaHipa! (cheers in Hawaiian).

Here’s how to make it:

Ingredients – Serves 1

🌺 2 oz Tequila (SWOL)
🌺 1 oz Cointreau
🌺 2 oz Pineapple Juice
🌺 1 oz Coconut Water
🌺 1 oz Mango Puree (1/3 cup fresh or frozen mango)
🌺 1 oz Papaya Puree (1/3 cup fresh papaya)
🌺 .5 oz Lime Juice
🌺 Agave Syrup for rim
🌺 Toasted Coconut for rim

Method

🪇In a small blender (blend jet works great) or similar, blend your mango and papaya separately and place in a small bowl. Set aside. You can alternatively muddle them in your cocktail shaker.
🪇In a small saucepan, toast coconut flakes until golden brown. Blend or chop into small pieces. Add the agave syrup to one plate and the toasted coconut on the other. Roll the front of the glass into the syrup then into the coconut. Let dry and set aside.
🪇Add the tequila, Cointreau, pineapple juice, coconut water, mango and papaya puree, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. If muddling the fruit, do that first in the cocktail shaker with no ice. Shake to combine and strain into the coconut rimmed margarita glass with ice.
🪇Add a tropical flower.

The Strawberry Moondoggie Mai Tai is a riff on the classic Mai Tai tiki cocktail created in 1944 by Victor Jules Bergernon (aka Trader Vic). It features all the traditional Mai Tai ingredients as well as fresh strawberries and Resort Strawberry Margarita Mixer, which is very versatile and can be used in any cocktail or mocktail, not just margaritas.

Here’s how to make this strawberrylicious cocktail:

Ingredients – Serves 1

🍓1-2 Fresh Strawberries
🍓1 oz White Rum
🍓1 oz Dark Rum
🍓.25 oz Orange Curacao
🍓.5 oz Orgeat
🍓.25 oz Lime Juice
🍓1.5 oz Resort Strawberry Margarita Mix
🍓Mint and small edible flowers for garnish
🍓Small Surfboard for garnish

Method

🍹Wash and dry the strawberries. Cut off the green stem and cut into small pieces. Add the strawberries to a cocktail shaker with no ice and muddle until smooth.
🍹Add the white and dark rum, orange curacao, orgeat, lime juice, strawberry margarita mix and ice. Shake to combine 30 seconds.
🍹Strain into a double rocks glass filled with crushed ice.
🍹Garnish with a large sprig of mint (washed, dried and ends cut) to resemble a bouquet. Add two small edible flowers in the mint. Add a small surfboard. Cheers!

Fun fact- Moondoggie (played by James Darren) in the 1959 beach classic movie “Gidget” was Gidgets boyfriend and the inspiration for this cocktail. If you’ve never actually seen this movie (the 1959 version with Sandra Dee), I highly recommend you put it on your summer watch list🍿It’s the one that started all the beach party genre movies and the best in my opinion 🎥

This summer, I’m having an epic beach party and you’re all invited 🎉 We’ll be surfing all day and luauing all night, all summer long🏄‍♂️🍹Who wants to come to my wild beach party?

The Rum Runner was originally invented in the early 1970s at the Holiday Isle Tiki Bar in Islamorada, Florida. Created by bartender John “Tiki John” Elberto to use up excess inventory, the fruity drink was named in honor of the Prohibition era bootleggers who famously smuggled liquor through the Florida Keys.

Ingredients – Serves 1

🌺 1 oz White Rum @planterayrum
🌺 1 oz Dark Rum @flordecanarum
🌺 .5 oz Banana Liqueur
🌺 .5 oz Blackberry Liqueur
🌺 1.5 oz Pineapple Juice
🌺 1.5 oz Strawberry Mix @resortbeverages
🌺 Splash Grenadine
🌺 Fresh pineapple for garnish
🌺 Strawberry, blackberry and maraschino cherry for garnish

Method

🍹Add the rums, banana and blackberry liqueurs, pineapple juice, strawberry mix and grenadine to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake to combine and strain into an ice filled hurricane glass.
🍹Slide the pineapple wedge and Kahuna surfer onto the side of the glass. Add a small surfboard and sunglasses. Add a straw. Cheers!

Ingredients - Serves 1

🍒1 oz. Vanilla Vodka
🍒2 oz. Soda Jerk Root Beer Shot @sodajerkshot
🍒2 scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
🍒Root Beer to top
🍒Whipped Cream
🍒Maraschino Cherry

Method

🍨Chill all ingredients prior. Add the Vanilla Vodka and Soda Jerk Root Beer Shot to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake to combine (30 seconds)
🍨Add the Vanilla Ice Cream to a milkshake glass. Strain the Vodka/Root Beer Shot over the ice cream.
🍨Pour the Root Beer over the top (make sure it’s chilled).
🍨Add whipped cream and a cherry on top.

Here’s how to make this boozy bluesy cocktail:

Ingredients – Serves 2

For the red layer
❤️1 cup Frozen Strawberries
❤️2 oz Grenadine
❤️1 oz Vodka (Armen’s Barrels)
❤️1 cup crushed ice

For the white layer
🤍1 oz Vodka
🤍2 oz Lemonade
🤍2 oz Cream of Coconut
🤍2 cups crushed ice

For the blue layer
💙2 oz Blue Curacao
💙1 oz Vodka
💙2 cups crushed ice

Method
1. Make the red layer. Add the strawberries, grenadine, vodka and crushed ice to a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into 2 hurricane glasses (you may need a spoon) divided evenly. Place glasses into the freezer immediately. Rinse and dry the blender jar.
2. Make the white layer. Add the vodka, lemonade, coconut cream and crushed ice into the clean blender jar. Blend until smooth. Pour the white layer evenly into the two glasses from the freezer. Place glasses back in the freezer. Rinse and dry the blender jar.
3. Make the blue layer. Add the Blue Curacao, vodka and crushed ice into the clean blender jar. Blend until smooth. Pour/spoon the blue layer onto the white layer. Add a straw.

Fun fact- The beautiful music I chose for this reel is sung by Keali’i Reichel who is my favorite Hawaiian singer. He wrote the song as a tribute to his mother, Lei honoring her strength by comparing her to the majestic mountain peak Maunaleo adjacent to Maui’s ʻĪao Valley who guards, comforts, nourishes and loves her people. Mālie is the gentle wind of the area. I thought it was a perfect song choice to honor all the amazing moms🌺Cheers🥂

Here’s how to make this tropical spritzer:

Ingredients - Serves 1

🌺2 oz Coconut Rum (Malibu)
🌺4 oz Pineapple Juice
🌺2 oz Pina Colada Wine @armensbarrels or white/sparkling wine.
🌺Club Soda (or Coconut LaCroix) to top
🌺Pineapple Wedge and Fronds for garnish
🌺Maraschino Cherry for garnish

Method

🌸In a wine glass filled with ice, add the Malibu rum, pineapple juice, Pina Colada Wine Cocktail and Club Soda (you could alternatively use Champagne or Prosecco and omit the club soda) Stir gently until blended.
🌸Slide the pineapple wedge and maraschino cherry onto the side of your glass. Add the two pineapple fronds. Cheers🥂

What do you get when Sangria and Tequila unite? A Mambo Taxi! Created in 1991 and famously served at Mi Cocina Restaurant in Dallas, Texas, this signature frozen swirl margarita has been a local sensation for decades. This iconic margarita consists of silver tequila, lime juice and house made Sangria swirled together for a sweet fruity taste. It is notoriously strong though and because of that a limit of two per person was enforced in the 80s/90s although this recipe can easily be split into two glasses.

I’ve teamed up with @cwspirits and @armensbarrels and am using their delicious Blackberry Sangria for this cocktail. Here’s how to make this historic Texas cocktail:

Ingredients – Serves 1-2

For the Sangria
🍷2 oz Blackberry Sangria @armensbarrels
🍷1 oz Chambord
🍷1 oz Orange Juice

For the Lime Margarita
🍋‍🟩3 oz Tequila (Silver/Blanco)
🍋‍🟩1.5 oz Cointreau
🍋‍🟩2 oz Lime Juice (fresh squeezed)
🍋‍🟩1.5 oz Agave Syrup
🍋‍🟩3 cups Ice

Method
🇲🇽Run 1/2 lime around rim of the margarita glass. Roll or dip in salt. Set aside.
🇲🇽In a mixing glass or measuring cup, add the Blackberry Sangria (Armen’s Barrels) Chambord and orange juice. Mix together with bar spoon.
🇲🇽Add the tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, agave syrup and ice to a blender. Blend until smooth.
🇲🇽Pour part of the sangria in the margarita glass then top with the lime margarita. Fun fact: I’m not sure how it happened but when I poured the lime margarita into the glass I got lucky and created the perfect swirl😂 but technically you’re supposed to add more sangria on top and gently stir. I’m back!!! Let’s Party!🎉🎉🎉

The Amaretto Sour was created and brought to the US in 1974 by Italian importer Amaretto di Saronno to promote its Amaretto liqueur which eventually became Disaronno in 2001. It was originally made with 2 parts Amaretto and 1 part lemon juice and was promoted as a lighter version of the Whiskey Sour. It became very popular in the 80s disco scene but most bartenders used a sour mix vs fresh lemon juice, which was the norm back in the day. It was revived in 2012 by bartender Jefferey Morgenthaler who added bourbon, fresh lemon juice and egg white. I’m using the original recipe but taking it up to craft cocktail level with fresh lemon juice and simple syrup which pairs beautifully with the almond and apricot flavors of the Disaronno Amaretto liqueur.

I’ve teamed up with @smokpub and am using their super fun iWhiskey Glass Pro VI for this cocktail. It spins, it lights up and makes you feel like dancing in an 80s disco when you drink out of it😂Equipped with color changing lights, rotating base and rapid cooling technology, this would make a great gift for anyone(FathersDay). Ingredients-Serves 1

🥃2 oz Amaretto @disaronno_official
🥃1 oz Lemon Juice
🥃.5 oz Simple Syrup
🥃Lemon wheel and Maraschino cherry for garnish

Method

🕺Add the Amaretto, lemon juice and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice. 💃Shake to combine and strain into the ice filled Smokpub iWhiskey Glass.
🕺Garnish with the lemon cherry wheel and spin your cocktail🎉

Celebrate Easter tiki style with the Easter Island Cocktail🍹🌺

Easter Island (Rapa Nui) is a remote Polynesian island off the coast of Chile. It was annexed by Chile in 1888 but was originally settled around 1200 AD by Polynesians who built a complex society with hierarchies and carving traditions. Known for its 900+ massive statues (Moai) the society flourished before enduring massive deforestation that caused an environmental collapse disrupting the civilization. European explorers visited the island in 1722 and found a population of between 2000 - 3000. Slave raids by Peru in 1862 as well as smallpox epidemics further reduced the population to just 111 by 1877. Today, most tourists visit the island to see the giant mysterious Moai statues scattered across the island with some as tall as 30 feet. Over time, most had fallen over but were erected and placed on a platform with their backs to the sea, while others had the ability to “walk” and be moved around the island due to their angular bottoms. Easter Island was a part of the 1950’s-60’s American tiki culture led by Donn Beach who created cocktails named after island spirits.

I’ve teamed up with @teamcraftedpour and @bgreynolds and am using their Xtabay bitters for this cocktail. Thank you BG Reynolds for this amazing product. Xtabay bitters are part of their new tiki bitters line which features the concept of just 3 dashes will do. Sour cherry and sweet absinthe and a spice blend of cardamon, clove and cinnamon will bring a new depth to all your tiki cocktails. Cheers!

Here’s how to make this delicious island cocktail:

Ingredients-Serves 1

🌺1/2 cup Frozen Mango
🌺1/2 cup Frozen Pineapple
🌺1 oz Rum
🌺.5 oz Banana Liqueur
🌺.5 oz Amaretto
🌺1 oz Orange Juice
🌺1 oz Grapefruit Juice
🌺1 oz Orgeat
🌺1 oz Cream of Coconut
🌺.25 oz Lime Juice
🌺3-4 dashes Xtabay Bitters
🌺Fresh Mango, Pineapple and Maraschino Cherry for garnish

Method

🍹Add all ingredients to a blender.
🍹Blend until smooth and pour into a margarita or hurricane glass.
🍹Garnish with the fresh mango, cherry and pineapple pick, pineapple fronds and umbrella straw.

Spring is here, love is in the air and I once again have more grapefruits than I know what to do with😂 I thought I would put them to good use and make some Palomas, but not just any Palomas, it’s a cocktail & mocktail duo🎉

The Paloma (which means dove in Spanish) is a popular cocktail that originated in Mexico and traditionally consisted of tequila, lime juice and Squirt or Jarritos grapefruit soda. Although its exact origins are unclear, it’s believed to have been created sometime in the mid 20th century. Over the years, bartenders opted for fresh grapefruit juice, sparkling water and agave syrup instead of the flavored soda although I actually recommend using the soda for the mocktail.

I’ve teamed up with @swoltequila and am using their fabulous tequila for this cocktail. Swoll is a premium tequila made from high-grade Blue Weber Agave cultivated in rich volcanic soil in Mexico. It is aged 13 1/2 months in American oak barrels developing notes of vanilla, toasted nuts and warm spice. Salud!

Here’s how to make these refreshing springtime libations:

Ingredients-serves 1

For the cocktail

🌷2 oz Tequila @swoltequila
🌷3 oz Grapefruit Juice (fresh squeezed if possible)
🌷.5 oz Lime Juice
🌷.5 oz Agave Syrup @oorganics
🌷Club Soda to top @schweppes

For the mocktail

🌼3 oz Grapefruit Juice
🌼.5 oz Lime Juice
🌼1 oz Agave Syrup
🌼Club, Squirt or Jarritos Grapefruit Soda to top

Method

🍋‍🟩Run a lime around both margarita glasses and roll in cocktail sugar.
🍋‍🟩Add the tequila (cocktail only), grapefruit juice, lime juice and agave syrup to cocktail shakers with ice.
🍋‍🟩Shake to combine and strain into ice filled, sugar rimmed margarita glasses.
🍋‍🟩Add the Club, Squirt or Jarritos soda to top. @jarritos
🍋‍🟩Garnish with a grapefruit wedge. Cheers!

I’ve teamed up with @teamcraftedpour and @blacktwisthc from Ireland and am using their Irish Coffee Liqueur for this mischievous Irish Espresso Martini. Thank you to Black Twist for this magical bottle of deliciousness. Black Twist uses only the finest Arabica coffee beans for this liqueur which is cold brewed in triple distilled Irish whiskey inside oak casks which gives it a smooth flavor of vanilla and dark chocolate. Slàinte!💚

Here’s how to make this magical golden coffee cocktail:

Black Gold Irish Martini

Ingredients - Serves 1

🍀1.5 oz Irish Whiskey
🍀1 oz Irish Coffee Liqueur @blacktwisthc
🍀1 oz Espresso
🍀.5 oz Guinness Syrup (1 bottle or can Guinness Draught and 1.5 cups Demerara sugar)
🍀1/8 tsp Gold Brew Glitter @brew_glitter
🍀Green cocktail rimming sugar @brew_glitter
🍀1/2 lemon for rim
🍀3 coffee beans for garnish

Method

🌈Add the Irish whiskey, Irish Coffee Liqueur, Espresso. Guinness syrup and gold brew glitter to a cocktail shaker with ice.
🌈Shake to combine and strain into a green sugar rimmed martini glass.
🌈Garnish with 3 coffee beans.

Fun fact: I’m actually part Welsh not Irish but in the Celtic family and according to my mother it’s where I get my dark blue eyes. Lechyd da! (Cheers in Welsh)

Happy Valentine’s Day🌺

Add a sophisticated touch to your Valentine’s Day with this Banana Berry Champagne Daiquiri. The Daiquiri, which originated in 1898 in Cuba, is a classic tropical cocktail consisting of Cuban rum, lime and sugar. The Banana Daiquiri was later created in 1953 at St. Thomas Mountaintop bar in the US Virgin Islands by British sea captain George Soule and gained popularity in the 1950’s -70’s by Harry Yee in Hawaii. It was usually frozen and blended and later evolved into fruity and sparkling festive versions with a tropical base.

I’ve teamed up with @teamcraftedpour @worldwide_libations and @thebittertruthcompany and am using their Tiki Lovers Banana Rum for this cocktail. Thank you @thebittertruthcompany for this bottle of exceptional rum. Made from premium Caribbean rums from Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad with natural banana extracts, this rum perfectly balances the depth and warmth of the dark rum with the fruity essence of sun ripened bananas. Cheers!

Here’s how to make this bananaberrylicious cocktail:

Ingredients-Serves 1

❤️1.5 oz Banana Rum @tikiloversrum
❤️.75 oz Strawberry Syrup (2:1)
❤️.5 oz Lime Juice
❤️2 cups Strawberries (8 fresh or frozen)
❤️Champagne to top
❤️Strawberry Heart for garnish

Method

🍹Add 2 quartered strawberries to a cocktail shaker with no ice. Muddle.
🍹Add the @tikiloversrum Banana Rum, strawberry syrup, lime juice and ice to the shaker. Shake to combine.
🍹Add the red glitter ice rose (full instructions on my website, link in bio) to a chilled coupe glass.
🍹Strain the cocktail over the ice rose and add the champagne to top.
🍹Garnish with a heart shaped strawberry on a cocktail pick. Cheers!
