Boo! Need a frighteningly fun cocktail idea for Halloween? Why not try the Haunted Graveyard? It’s scary good! Although there is no history on this modern Halloween themed cocktail (and several variations), I bring to you the most popular version. This enticing version features the flavors of whiskey, maple syrup, orange and rosemary. A lighted rosemary sprig garnish signifies the foggy mist of a haunted graveyard at night and also wards off evil spirits. I used Dented Brick “Bottled in Bond” Rye whiskey for this cocktail. What does “bottled in bond” mean? It means this whiskey is a celebration of the Bottled in Bond Act of 1857, which ensured strict standards of whiskey distilling for high quality production and consumer protection. It requires that whiskey be produced by one distiller at one distillery, aged a minimum of 4 years in a federally bonded warehouse and bottled at 100 proof (50%ABV). This decadent whiskey has the flavor notes of vanilla, toasted oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, almond and orange. Cheers!
