Kick off the holiday season with a festive red Pomegranate Margarita! This delicious fall margarita is made with Reposado (oak barrel aged tequila), Cointreau (orange liqueur), pomegranate juice (100% pomegranate juice such as POM wonderful), freshly squeezed lime juice and agave syrup. Pro tip-There are two types of agave syrup, light and dark. You will want to use the light for most cocktails. This syrup comes from the blue agave plant, the same plant that tequila is made from, and they complement each other beautifully in margaritas. This easy, refreshing, jewel red margarita would also be a wonderful addition to any of your fall holiday gatherings, such as Thanksgiving or Christmas. Cheers!
Equipment
- Cocktail Shaker
- Strainer
- Jigger
- Margarita Glass
- Small plate or Rimmer
- Cutting Board
- Knife
Ingredients
- 2 oz Reposada Tequila
- 1 oz Cointreau
- 2 oz Pomegranate Juice (I used POM Wonderful)

Method
- Prepare your garnish. Rinse and dry a lime. Cut in half (you can squeeze the other half for the cocktail). Cut a 1/4-inch wheel from the cut edge and make a small slit in the bottom of the wheel to sit on your glass. Set aside.
- Prepare your glass. Place rimming salt on a small plate or rimmer. Run a lime wedge around the edge of your glass. Dip or roll the edge in the salt. Shake out any excess salt in glass. Fill glass with ice.
- Prepare your cocktail. Add the Reposado Tequila, Cointreau, Pomegranate Juice, Lime Juice and Agave Syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake to combine at least 30 seconds. Strain into Margarita glass with ice and garnish with the lime wheel. Cheers!
